Team Citius is Pittsburgh's premier junior development cycling program. Our members are located throughout the greater Pittsburgh region and reach as far as Martins Ferry, Ohio. We provide an avenue for young cyclists to safely learn to ride their bicycles in either an enthusiastic or competitive environment through group rides and race events. Participation and enjoyment are important components of Team Citius as the juniors learn cycling skills and experience an activity that can last a lifetime. Introduction to group road rides usually begins at Pittsburgh's North Park JC Stone Field or Pie Traynor Field where various local routes are available for the different levels of beginner cyclists. More experienced riders participate in group rides that also begin at North Park JC Stone Field and venture out into Butler, Sewickley, and surrounding areas. Group road rides are primarily Saturdays and Sundays during the warmer days of the year with a typical start time of either 8am or 9am during the summer months. Morning group rides will be geared towards faster pace rides and longer distances. Afternoon rides will be designated for new or beginner riders. Girls only rides are planned for 2012. Participation by parents in the group rides is promoted.

Mountain bike and cyclocross rides begin at North Park's swimming pool parking lot and take advantage of trails available at the 3,075 acre county park. The local road racing scene for new cyclists begins at the Bud Harris Track on Washington Blvd. in the Allegheny Cycling Association's Tuesday night Junior & Women criteriums. Team Citius members have won Pennsylvania State road racing championships and triathlon events.

Team Citius members have won PA State Road Championships, PA State Criterium Championships, the Pittsburgh Triathlon Sprint event and many other races.

Team Citius relies upon volunteers and parents to lead the group rides. Team Citius volunteers are experienced cyclists who provide group ride leadership and guidance to our young riders. Volunteers include road racers, mountain bike racers, and USA Cycling certified coaches.

Team Citius is a not-for-profit organization.
